Found that fact weirdly comforting today, despite my overall frustration with being injured. (STILL waiting on the new insurance card so I can make an appointment to have my elbow looked at! And my own research suggests that this damn thing won’t heal for at least 3-6 months!)

My first open-source software patch was made September 30. Today, October 10, was my first case of stereotype threat related to coding directed at me. Given the kind of sentiments that are common in FLOSS as a whole, I was probably overdue for some idiot saying something. It still disrupts your head a little bit–you’re trying to summarize your work and get shit done, but some arse has set up a big neon flashing arrow that points at you and says “LOOK! A GIRL.” It’s just a mite distracting. >.<

The incident didn’t go down *quite* as depicted. Yet again, I’m grateful that OpenHatch, the OSS project I’m involved with, has a high concentration of fellow lady coders and male allies who are awesome and totally rock. I didn’t even hardly have to respond. :)

Quick post: I already put a link up on my Identica account last week about it, but I’ve restarted doing webcomics! The new comic is called Zebulon and can be found at http://www.zebuloncomics.com/. The latest is perhaps my favorite so far, mostly because it gave me an excuse to doodle protest puppets. :)

And before everyone and their mom says it again: no, just because Chia is blonde and curvy doesn’t mean she’s supposed to be me. She is actually based on two ladies who will remain nameless. Indeed, unlike last time, most of the Zebulon characters are inspired by real humans. But so long as I don’t actually say who is based on whom, hopefully no one can get mad! Mwahahaha.

Not sure what I think. On the one hand, this is a very good score. With it and my GPA, I at least stand a chance at getting in to most any law school (though for the very top schools it would help if I like cured a major disease or something in the next three months or so). It’s also one point higher than Nelson’s score, achieving that goal. :p

On the other hand, though, I studied my butt off the two weeks before the test and took a ton of practice exams. By the end of it I was finishing scoring in the 175-177 range. The real test felt much more difficult than any of my practice exams (which is weird, since the practice exams *were* real LSATs), so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised to not score that high. But I thought I could. So I can’t help but feel a little disappointed.

So now what? Now I 1.) continue getting my things in order so I can apply to schools in August/September and 2.) figure out if it’s worth applying to Yale/Harvard.

Oh, and 3.) cure a major disease in the next three months.

In the last three days, I have written an all-nighter-enhanced 12-page paper about sweding, studied for and took a two-part Civil Liberties final, recorded two new acapella songs (“When My Boy Walks Down the Street” by Magnetic Fields and “Sumer Is Icumen In,” an Old English semi-pagan song we learned in choir), held two Free Culture 5C events (a showing of “Freedom of Expression” and a music mixtrade), and performed in my last Chamber Choir concert ever.

Today senior grades were due. My undergraduate education is complete. Holy crap.

Not to say that there ain’t things left to do. My room desperately needs cleaning, I need to pack stuff to ship home, and I continue to search for gainful employment. There’s about a billion todos and personal projects that I put on hold while finishing up my academic work. I expect many raucous, amusing exploits between now and graduation with my fellow seniors, and Nelson once he’s here.

But it’s really over. I’m no longer a college student. I just haven’t realized it yet.

Ho-ly crap.
